Pressure Treated Lumber
At Breen's Lumber, our pressure treated lumber starts right here at our sawmill. Made exclusively from Ontario pine, our lumber is harvested, sawn and prepared by us before being sent to a professional pressure treating facility that also treats lumber supplied to major building retailers. Once treated, it is shipped back to our mill for sale directly to our customers. Unlike conventional spruce-pine-fir (SPF) lumber, ours is 100% pine. Pine is particularly well suited to pressure treatment due to its ability to absorb wood preservatives, providing effective protection against rot, decay and wood destroying insects.
DECKING
We make 2x6 PT pine with rounded edges for deck boards, instead of the thinner 5/4 boards commonly sold for decking. The extra thickness makes for a sturdier deck with less bounce underfoot and better resistance to bending under heavy snow loads. It also gives the deck a very desirable appearance.
